Jul 29, 2021 — 2021 Mason Cup Winners
This year’s winners chose to work with a professor, Dr. Christopher Pickles, who challenged them with finding a process to extract constituent metals from polymetallic nodules, a novel resource found on the seafloor of the Pacific Ocean.

Jun 01, 2021 — Dr. Ahmad Ghahreman is using innovation to make the mining industry greener, safer and more efficient.
Dr. Ghahreman launched his lab at Queens in 2014, and since that time it has grown to become one of the busiest hydrometallurgy laboratories in North America. Along with his talented group of mostly PhD students, he’s working on several projects that could dramatically lessen the environmental impact of resource extraction.
